General Waxing Questions

What Is A Brazilian Wax?

A full Brazilian wax is where the aesthetician will remove all of the hair from your pubic area and between the cheek area. If you do not wish for all of the hair to be removed, feel free to discuss it with the provider.

How Do I Prepare For A Wax?

Make sure the area getting waxed is clean. This means do not apply oils, lotions, or other products on the skin. On the day you are getting waxed, cleanse the area with a gentle soap and water. Depending on the area being waxed, try to wear loose, comfortable clothing, if possible, to your appointment. Exfoliate at least 24-48 hours prior to remove built-up dead skin.

How Long Does My Hair Need To Be To Get Waxed?

Hair that is perceived as too long is far better than hair that is too short. Your hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice or 1/4 of an inch long. If the hair is too short, the provider will discuss next steps with you. We recommend you avoid shaving, waxing, trimming, and other forms of hair removal at least 2-4 weeks before scheduling for best results.

Can I Get Waxed While On My Cycle?

Yes, as long as you are comfortable with it! Please be sure you are wearing a fresh tampon and keep in mind that your sensitivity can increase while on your cycle. If you are not wearing a tampon for your waxing appointment, it may be subject to rescheduling.

How Do I Care For My Skin After Waxing?

Aftercare is crucial because it will ensure you get the best results from your wax and will help the following sessions become easier. Wait at least 24 hours after to begin exfoliating whether you are using a dry brush, chemical, or physical exfoliation method. Avoid intercourse, excessive sweating, heavy workouts, tight clothing, and hot showers for 24 hours. Do not tan, get in a pool, or hot tub, for at least 72 hours. We recommend exfoliating the area 2-3 times a week in-between each service.

Do You Wax Both Men and Women?

Yes, we accept both male and female clients for waxing services!

Do You Have Post-Wax Aftercare Products I Can Purchase?

Yes, we carry Fur, Relax N Wax, and dry brushes for purchase at our establishment.

I Just Finished A Round Of Antibiotics, Can I Get Waxed?

We require that you are off the antibiotics for at least two weeks prior to your appointment for safety and liability reasons.

General Facial Questions

What Is A Good Facial To Book For My First Time?

The Venus Enzyme Experience facial is a good starting place if this if your first facial experience or if you have not had one in a long time. We encourage booking this one because it incorporates gentle ingredients and allots enough time to switch to a different one if that is discussed with your provider.

How Should I Prep Before My Facial?

Make sure to fill out your consultation form as truthfully as possible. Please share with your provider if you have any important events coming up so that we can select the best plan of action for you in the treatment room. It is important to know the products and brands you are currently using on your skin, including makeup, to decide the best products to use or even to avoid during your treatment. Listing all medications, allergies, and health conditions (current or past) are important as well.

What Are Considered Actives In Skincare Products?

The most common active ingredients in skincare are AHAs such as glycolic and lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, BHAs such as salicylic acid, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, hydroquinone, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), niacinamide, and retinoids, retinol, and Retin-A. Please keep in mind that this is not every active ingredient that can be found in skincare products.

I Have On Makeup, Is That Okay?

Yes, it is perfectly fine if you are wearing makeup to your facial appointment! We will clear it away to have a fresh canvas to work on.

How Long Should I Stop Using Retinol/Retinoid/ Retin-A (Tretinoin)/ Or Any Kind Of Actives Prior To My Appointment?

It is recommended to stop usage of actives 2-3 days prior and after your appointment.
